Oklahoma’s Lt. Gov. Discusses Will To Win with Producers.
Producers for the Will to Win movie, Russ Kirkpatrick & Andy Kinslow, along with Rogers Family Representative Jennifer Rogers-Etcheverry have met with Oklahoma Lieutenant Governor Matt Pinnell to discuss the movie. Talking points included how different aspects of Oklahoma are pivotal to Will to Win’s filmmaking strategy; including Cherokee heritage and traditions, Will Rogers, Oklahoma tourism, and continuing to elevate Tulsa as a hub for the film industry.
Set in current time, the Will To Win movie is a female-centric, high school baseball drama, featuring a Cherokee storyline with a Will Rogers character.
Filming is slated for the spring/summer of 2023 in Tulsa and the surrounding area.
Will To Win Synopsis
Sky Forest is devastated when softball is cut at Will Rogers High, threatening the promise she made to her Cherokee parents before they died to win a championship and secure a college scholarship. The school board president tries to sabotage her last option - pitching for the boy’s baseball team. Through her vivid imagination Sky enlists the help of Will Rogers himself as her spirit guide, whose wisdom and humor help her to discover the Will to Win.
