David Brookwell, Producer
David Brookwell is a respected film and television producer and director with 40 years of experience in the entertainment industry. David is the co-founder of Brookwell McNamara Entertainment, Inc. with his partner Sean McNamara in 1997. David’s passion has always been to entertain. Since his beginning days at 20th Century Fox Studios to today, David has managed the business of BME and has written and directed many of BME’s projects.
As a producer, his feature film credits include the soon to be released Paramount film Bau, Artist At War starring Emile Hirsch, the recent 2023 Netflix release of True Spirit, the 2022 release of The King’s Daughter (Gravitas/Universal) starring Pierce Brosnan, Kaya Scodelario, and William Hurt, Hoovey, Soul Surfer (TriStar) starring AnnaSophia Robb, Helen Hunt, Dennis Quaid, and Carrie Underwood, and Raise Your Voice (New Line Cinema) starring Hilary Duff.
David also produced James Wood’s Race To Space (LionsGate Films), and Ben Stiller’s Permanent Midnight (Artisan). Currently, BME just concluded principal photography on the feature film On Fire, starring William H. Macy, John Corbet, Joel Courtney, and Devon Franklin. BME just completed the purchase of the rights to Leon Uris’s epic book “Trinity” which they intend to develop into a limited series. BME also produced the feature-length documentary Loopers; The Caddie’s Long Walk in 2019 and is currently producing a feature documentary on the story of the Schwinn bicycle company titled No Hands.
